Come and try out our relaxation machines!

Hydro Table
You stretch out on this table and the water jets pulsate on you upper
& lower back, shoulders and neck.  This is a great option to those days
you don't have time for a body massage.  Great for a quick 10-15 minutes
session.

Ion Detox Foot Bath
The health benefits of negative Ions are well known.  When water
is ionized and split into H+ and OH ions (and sometimes into H3)+
and H202 ions), these ions are able to enter the body through the
4,000 large pores of the feet.  Then the circulatory and lymphatic
systems transport the ions throughout the body.  These ions
neutralize oppositely charged toxins in the cells that are normally
slow to exit the body.  In this way, all the body's organs can become
energized and stimulated to function optimally.  the body then rids
itself of these toxins through its normal processes of urination,
defecation, and sweating.

Chi Machine
Using the Chi Machine is simple:  Lie on your back and put your
ankles in the grooves of the footrest on top of the machine.
Then set the timer switch to activate the Chi Machine for the
number of minutes desired.  The footrest will begin to move
back and forth, carrying your feet briskly from side to side.
The movement will carry up through your legs and torso,
throughout your entire body, causing you to wiggle back and
forth like a fish swimming in water. All you do is relax and breathe
deeply, letting the machine rock you gently but firmly for a
maximum of 15 minutes.  When the time is up, remain lying down
for  another 2 to 5 minutes, enjoying the remarkable
afterglow.....Chi.....as it moves throughout your body.

FIR Hothouse
FIR is capable of penetrating deep into the human body.  It can
gently and delightfully elevate the body's temperature.  When
it does so, it helps to expand capillaries, which stimulates blood
circulation.  This increases the body's energy reserve, and
accelerates the metabolic exchange between blood and body
tissue.  That's not all!  FIR can actually increase the body tissue's
regenerative ability.  It also reduces abnormalities in nervous
system and help the autonomous system function properly.
Needless to say, now that FIR's outstanding properties are gaining
worldwide recognition and acclaim, we are beginning to see it
appear in a wide variety of medical applications.

Electro Reflex Energizer
Use the ERE to promote your well-being.  Just 5-30 minutes a
day with your ERE will help your feet feel better, further relax
and revitalize your entire body.  Foot massage promotes the
circulation of your blood while loosening tense muscle tissues.
Unwind with the ERE and feel low frequency acupressure "fingers"
gently massaging the bottoms of your feet as you drift into
complete relaxation.

History of Massage

Touch was the earliest form of communication.  Massage is believed to have been among the first healing arts practiced by humans.
Massage therapy is a practice that dates back thousands of years.  There are many types of massage therapy; all involve manipulating the muscles and other soft tissues of the body.  In 460 B.C. the father of Western medicine, Hippocrates, wrote about the importance of massage in the practice of medicine.  "The physician must be experienced in many things but assuredly in rubbing, for rubbing can bind a joint that is too loose, and loosen a joint that is too rigid."
Massage is considered to be one of the oldest health practices.  It is mentioned in Chinese texts that date back 4,000 years.  The Yellow Emperor's Classic of Internal Medicine, a Chinese text from 2,500 BC references the importance of massaging the skin and flesh.  The ancient Egyptians took particular care of their feet.  Some hieroglyphs portray people receiving foot massage, and brought the practice to Japan.  Eventually this form of massage became what we know as Shiatsu.
Starting in about 800 B.C., massage was being practiced in Greece.  Olympic athletes used massage to keep there muscles in shape.
In the 1960's and 1970's massage experienced a resurgence in the US as it was embraced by the flower child generation.  During the time all nurses in the United States were trained in massage to help speed patient's healing, relieve pain and aid in sleep.
1.  Pick Your Spot:  You don't have to massage the part of the body that hurts most.  If you're shy about letting a friend touch your aching lower back, for instance, she could help by massaging your shoulders instead.  This is because massage creates chemical changes that reduce pain and stress throughout the body.  One way it does this is by reducing a brain chemical called substance P that is related to pain.  In a TRI study, for example, individuals with a form of muscle pain called Fibromyalgia showed less substance P in their saliva (and they reported reduced pain) after a month of twice-weekly massages.
2.  De-Stress, Stay Healthy:  Massage may boost immunity.  Several studies have measured the stress hormone called cortisol in subjects' saliva before and after massage sessions, and found dramatic decreases.  Cortisol, which is produced your stress levels and hence the cortisol in your body, it may help you avoid getting a cold or another illness while under stress.
3.  Blood Pressure Benefits:  Massage reduces hypertension, suggests a good deal of research.  This may be because it stimulates pressure receptors that prompt action from the vagus nerve, one of the nerves that emerges from the brain.  The vagus nerve regulates blood pressure, as well as other functions.  In a 2005 study at the University of South Florida, hypertension patients who received 10 massages of 10 minutes each over three weeks showed significant improvements in blood pressure compared to a control group who simply rested in the same environment without any massage
